HoR Impressed with 2024 Environment Ministry Budget Performance Reports

The Federal Ministry of Environment, under the leadership of Minister Malam Balarabe Abbas Lawal, presented the 2024 Budget Performance Report and defended the 2025 budget at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, receiving significant recognition and praise.

Malam Balarabe Lawal stated that the presentation was a crucial step in ensuring that the ministry’s environmental initiatives and projects are adequately funded. He emphasized that the ministry’s environmental policies and programs have been significantly driven by his leadership.

The minister highlighted his focus on tackling critical environmental challenges, including climate change, pollution, and conservation. The budget defense outlined the ministry’s achievements in 2024, such as promoting sustainable development, protecting natural resources, and combating environmental degradation.

The presentation also laid out the ministry’s plans and priorities for 2025, which may include initiatives such as Climate Change Mitigation and adaptation, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and enhancing climate resilience. It further highlighted initiatives aimed at protecting Nigeria’s natural resources, including forests, waterways, and wildlife, alongside pollution control and waste management efforts.

In addition, the ministry’s programs aimed to reduce pollution, promote sustainable waste management practices, and ensure environmental health and safety were also emphasized.

“By presenting the 2024 budget performance report and defending the 2025 budget, the Federal Ministry of Environment demonstrates its commitment to transparency, accountability, and effective environmental governance,” the statement concluded.
