Ibom Towers: Akwa Ibom Community in Lagos Praises Governor Eno

By Ogenyi Ogenyi, Uyo

The Akwa Ibom community in Lagos has commended Governor Umo Eno for the foundation-laying of the 19-storey Ibom Towers in Lagos.

Operating under the Akwa Ibom Alliance for Good Governance, the group praised the Ibom Towers project, describing Governor Eno as a visionary leader who recognizes the significance of investing in the booming real estate sector in Lagos.

In a statement signed by Chapter President Engr. Godwin Okon, and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Uyo, the group emphasized that few investments can match the potential gains from real estate ventures.

“The decision by Governor Umo Eno to build a 19-storey, ultra-modern commercial tower in place of the dilapidated Governor’s Lodge on Victoria Island, Lagos, is a well-thought-out move. We celebrate and appreciate his efforts to elevate Akwa Ibom State to greater economic heights,” the statement read.

“This investment spirit places our State alongside other economically progressive states in Nigeria. Lagos, as the economic powerhouse of Nigeria, owes its success partly to the foresight of its leaders, particularly in real estate investment.”

The group referenced Nigeria’s flourishing real estate sector, projected to reach a value of $2.42 trillion by 2024. With residential real estate comprising the largest share, the market volume is expected to climb to $3.41 trillion by 2029, driven by a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.10%.

“There is a remarkable demand for luxury apartments in major Nigerian cities. Akwa Ibom State is fortunate to own property in such a prime location. Real estate is an ideal investment, and Lagos is the best destination for it.”

“Given our decades of experience living in Lagos, we are well-placed to recognize the strategic value of a real estate venture here. Governor Umo Eno is on the right path, and we commend his efforts,” the group noted.

The group also acknowledged other real estate projects initiated by Governor Eno, including the ARISE Estate in Ibesikpo Asutan LGA, the Dakkada Luxury Estate, Emily Estates in Uyo, and the proposed Aviation Estate in Uruan.

In addition, they lauded Eno’s various initiatives aimed at youth development and empowerment.

“We particularly thank him for launching the Akwa Ibom Youth Employment Portal. Many of us in Lagos have already registered, and it instills a sense of pride that our state is actively pursuing innovation and creativity.”

They further commended Governor Eno for programs like the compassionate homes, food distribution for the vulnerable, and poverty alleviation initiatives.

The statement concluded by expressing the group’s support for the governor’s Ibom-LED Entrepreneurship Accelerator Programme, rural development efforts, and his vision for food sufficiency.

“We pledge our unwavering support for Governor Eno in achieving his numerous projects that will elevate Akwa Ibom State to be the pride of the nation.”
