ICDA Calls on Kogi Governor to Develop Ganaja Community to Befit state capital status

The Chairman of Igala Cultural and Development Association ( ICDA) Ganaja-Ajaokuta LGA Chapter, Prince Daniel Ogacheko, over the weekend called on the Kogi state government development community to equate state capital status.

Ogacheko who made the call while
speaking at the ‘Igala Day’ Celebration at Ganaja Primary school in Ajaokuta local government said Ganaja community lacks many amenities.

Prince Ogacheko highlighted the community’s needs, including the construction of roads, provision of healthcare facilities, establishment of a modern government secondary school, and appointment of sons and daughters into political offices.

The ICDA Chairman solicited support for the construction of the Igala Unity Hall, which will serve as a symbol of cultural architecture and meeting point for the community to promote peace and unity.

Prince Ogacheko who expressed his gratitude to Mr. President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for appointing Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu as Minister for Steel Development,
also thanked the immediate past house of representative member, representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Hon. Muhammed Lawal, for his contributions to the development of the constituency.

Prince Ogacheko also appreciated the efforts of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Honourable Sani Abdulraheem Egidi in representing the people of Kogi State at the National Assembly.

The ICDA Chairman also used the occasion to appreciate the efforts of the traditional rulers in the area, especially the Onu Igala Lokoja, Chief Joseph Akpa, and HRM the Attah Igala and Chairman, Kogi State Traditional Council of Chiefs Alaji Mathew Opaluwa, for their role in promoting peace and unity in the state.

The ‘Igala Day’ Celebration in Ganaja was a huge success, with various cultural performances, exhibitions showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Igala people and Awards to some important dignitaries in the state.

In his remarks, the chairman of the occasion Alh. Haliru Abdul
commended the state government for its efforts in promoting development and unity in the state.

He stressed the need for Igala to remain focused and ensure that the existing peace and unity among the Igala people is sustained, adding that the celebration of ‘Igala Day’ has provided a platform for the Igala community to come together and promote unity and development in the state.
