IG Deploys New DIGs to Key Police Departments

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has announced the deployment of newly appointed Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs) to critical departments within the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

The move, confirmed in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, aims to leverage the expertise of these senior officers to enhance operational efficiency and improve the force’s response to evolving security challenges.

According to the official statement, the postings cover key areas such as criminal investigations, intelligence, operations, logistics, and ICT.

IGP Backs Strategic Reorganisation

The IGP expressed strong confidence in the leadership abilities of the newly deployed DIGs, emphasizing that their appointments are critical to strengthening the force’s effectiveness.

“These strategic appointments will further enhance the Nigeria Police Force’s ability to tackle security challenges and improve overall operational efficiency,” the statement read.

The reshuffle is seen as part of the NPF’s broader reforms to position experienced officers in key roles, ensuring a more proactive approach to policing nationwide.
