Imo Undergraduate Allegedly Stabs FUTO Student to Death

A tragic incident unfolded as 21-year-old Francis Marvelous, a student of Imo State University, allegedly stabbed to death Marvelous Kingsley, a final-year student of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.

According to a statement from the Imo State Police Command spokesperson, Henry Okoye, the unfortunate event occurred on Thursday night following an altercation between the suspect and the victim.

Marvelous was swiftly apprehended by police operatives in response to a distress call, dispelling rumors suggesting the involvement of a Fulani herdsman in the incident.

The statement revealed that the suspect confessed to the crime during interrogation, admitting to engaging in a heated argument with members of FUTO’s Man O’ War Unit. It was during this altercation that he allegedly stabbed Kingsley to death.

Efforts are underway to apprehend other individuals allegedly involved in the altercation, including the suspect’s brother and two others.

Meanwhile, an eyewitness reported additional casualties, including the death of another student and injuries sustained by others as a result of the ensuing chaos and panic triggered by the incident.
