Insecurity: Hon. Solomon Maigari Constructs Police Outpost in Tudun Wada to Boost Security

By Israel Adamu, Jos

In a move aimed at addressing insecurity at the grassroots, philanthropist Hon. Solomon Itse Maigari has commenced the construction of a modern police outpost in Tudun Wada, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State. The facility, when completed, will be donated to the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) to enhance security operations in the community.Maigari said the initiative was conceived to bring law enforcement closer to residents, improve rapid response to security threats, and foster lasting peace in Tudun Wada and its environs. He noted that the presence of a functional police outpost would help deter crime and reassure residents of their safety.

Speaking on the project, the philanthropist explained that insecurity remains a major challenge in many urban and semi-urban communities, making community-based interventions critical. According to him, strengthening the capacity of security agencies through infrastructure support is one practical way of supporting government efforts.“The primary objective of constructing this police outpost is to bring security services closer to the people and ensure swift response to crime incidents,” Maigari said. “When security is accessible, peace and stability are easier to maintain.” He reiterated his commitment to safeguarding lives and property, stressing that security is a shared responsibility that requires collaboration between citizens, community leaders, and law enforcement agencies. He added that proactive support for the police would contribute significantly to reducing crime and restoring public confidence.

Maigari, who is known for empowering youths across Plateau State, described security as a foundation for development. He noted that communities can only thrive economically and socially when residents feel safe to go about their daily activities without fear.“ A secure community is a productive community,” he said. “That is why I believe in supporting law enforcement agencies in practical ways that make their work easier and more effective.”The philanthropist, who previously aspired to represent Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, also pledged to continue initiatives aimed at uplifting the less privileged in society. He said empowerment, education, and security must go hand in hand for sustainable development.

Beyond the construction of the police outpost in Tudun Wada, Maigari called on residents to embrace peaceful coexistence and support security agencies by providing timely information. He stressed that community cooperation remains essential in tackling crime and preventing violence. He urged citizens to live harmoniously with one another, regardless of ethnic or religious differences, noting that unity is key to overcoming insecurity in Plateau State. According to him, development-driven philanthropy must always prioritise peace and human safety.

Community members have welcomed the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that will strengthen security presence in Tudun Wada. Residents expressed optimism that the new police outpost would reduce crime and enhance collaboration between the police and the community. The project adds to ongoing efforts by individuals and groups to complement government actions in addressing insecurity in Jos North and other parts of Plateau State.
