International Institute Celebrates Nigerian Excellence and Humanitarian Contributions

The Kings College British American Institute (KCBA), hosted a prestigious awards ceremony on Monday 9th December, to celebrate exemplary Nigerians who have made outstanding contributions to excellence, humanitarian services, and sustainable development.

The event which, held at the National Merit Award House in Maitama, Abuja, brought together distinguished personalities from governance, the corporate sector, and civil society.

The honorees were recognized for their unwavering dedication to governance, philanthropy, and community development, which have left a lasting impact on society.

Speaking at the event, KCBA representatives emphasized that the awards were designed to inspire recipients and foster a culture of excellence and service.

The ceremony however featured inspiring speeches from awardees who shared insights into how the recognition would further motivate them in their pursuits.

Among the recipients was Mr. Emeka Patrick Mba, recognized for his humanitarian efforts. In an interview with our correspondent, he described the award as a motivator:

“I’m elated, to say the least. This recognition fuels me to continue doing what I’ve been doing, especially the ‘little things’ that I thought went unnoticed. Seeing people smile and finding joy in their lives is my biggest takeaway. This award adds more responsibility on my shoulders rather than a sense of achievement. It pushes me to keep going.” He said.

Also, Hon. Apode Baba, President of the Apode and Queen Amina Care Foundation and CEO in the oil and gas sector, honored with a Doctorate Honorary Award, described the recognition as a powerful motivator for his humanitarian efforts:

He said: “This award is like fuel to the car, it ignites my passion and aligns with my vision for humanity. My life’s purpose is to prioritize humanity over myself, to bring smiles and added value to lives. This honor strengthens my resolve to pursue that mission.”

Engineer George Nnaman, Deputy Director of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, who received recognition for his contributions to philanthropy and civil service, expressed his delight, noting the impact of his work:

“It’s an honor to be recognized. My goal has always been to raise others and make a positive impact in their lives. This award reinforces my commitment to continue serving and uplifting people.”

The KCBA awards highlight the institute’s dedication to promoting excellence, humanitarianism, and development. By celebrating these trailblazers, the ceremony underscores the vital role of individuals in shaping a brighter future for Nigeria.

The event concluded with a call to action for all stakeholders to emulate the honorees’ contributions, fostering a culture of selflessness, excellence, and community development.
