It will be a revolution of projects in Abuja- Wike

By Joyce Remi-Babayeju

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Barr. Nyesom Wike has said that with the recent Presidential approval of the 2024 Appropriation Budget implementation, there will be a revolution of projects in Abuja.

Wike made this known on Wednesday while fielding questions from journalists after a monitoring tour of projects sites at Guzape Lot 11 and Diplomatic area in Abuja city.

The minister who thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the budget approval and his support, said that already Abuja is wearing a new look.

He said, ” What you will see will be revolution in terms of infrastructure. The projects you have been seeing are within the few months that Mr. President came in. With this budget, many things will be done not just on roads, but in the health sector and education sector, just be assured it will be a revolution in all sectors.”

The FCT minister also commended all citizens for their support and the FCT residents who have been making some sacrifice since the divertion of traffic due to road construction.
‘Roads are being completed, and it’s going to be part of the roads we believe will be commissioned in May.”
We also went to the areas where Julius Berger are working, and they assured us that all the roads they are resurfacing will be completed will be completed before May 29, “We want to thank Mr. President who has assented to the Appropriation Act and enabling Abuja to start procurement process. What you will see will be revolution in terms of infrastructure.

However, the minister said that those who are saying that criminals have taken over Abuja, are sadists.
” On claims that criminals have taken over the city and streetlights no longer being lighted. I don’t know about criminals, but I have always told you there are those who will never be happy in their lives. They are sadists. ”

” If anybody says there’s no improvement in terms of streetlights, he is a sadist. We are planning to carry out some repairs on those that have been vandalized, which is not easy. ”

” Like you heard what the Salini people said, they have tested the streetlights even though they have not switched them on because they are waiting for commissioning, so maybe that’s part of the area they are saying is dark.”
When you say criminals all over, I think those who are saying so have to be part of the criminal themselves, he added.
