As the 2022 season commences in most of the Northern parts of Nigeria, our correspondent takes a look at how Jigawa state farmers started their rainfed agricultural activities especially when there is heavy down pour in some areas.
At Ganuwar Kuka in Auyo local government area, Daybreak gathered that farmers have already prepared their farmlands for showing crops which is a clear indication that this season would be different from the previous years.
Most of the farmers that had a chats with our correspondent disclosed that Jigawa state government is making good impact towards the success of crops production across the state which has encouraged the farmers producing different farm produces.
Similarly, Malam Suleiman from Gwaram local government area lamented that the AFAN leadership in Jigawa state is doing well to ensure that Jigawa farmers benefited from all agricultural provisions that are meant for agriculture which is another landmark achievement.
Furthermore, the farmers announced that the All farmers association of Nigeria (AFAN) under the chairmanship of Alhaji Idris Yau Mai Unguwa is the best formidable association in Nigeria that is working selflessly to ensure that all farmers are included into the association’s programmes for profitable production.
“We thank Jigawa state AFAN leadership under Alhaji Idris Yau Mai Unguwa and his lieutenants because they are trying their best, and we called on the government of Jigawa state to do more on agriculture because farming and livestock rearing is the mainstay of the state’s economy for decades”
