By Israel Adamu, Jos

The Executive Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council, John Kyohroh Christopher, has commissioned an ICT center established by his administration. This milestone is part of the numerous achievements marking his first 100 days in office.

The commissioning ceremony, held at the council’s secretariat, was attended by the Director General of the Plateau State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA), Dominic Dantong, alongside other dignitaries.

In his address, the chairman emphasized that the establishment of the ICT center reflects his administration’s commitment to safeguarding confidential documents and equipping staff with the skills to meet global best practices. He highlighted the importance of the ICT unit, aligning it with Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s directive for local government councils to integrate their activities into a centralized database.

Chairman Christopher urged council staff to utilize the facility to enhance productivity and efficiency in service delivery.

A statement issued by Philip Eplong, Assistant Chief Information Officer for Jos North Local Government Council, quoted PICTDA Director General Dominic Dantong, who praised the council’s efforts. He noted that the ICT unit would play a significant role in improving data security and enhancing the locality’s technological infrastructure.

Inspection of Community Projects

In a related development, Chairman John Kyohroh Christopher inspected the ongoing borehole project in the Nabor Gwong community. Residents expressed gratitude, noting that the project would help alleviate water scarcity in the area.

During his visit to the proposed Angwan Rukuba Market site, the chairman instructed the directors to map out a detailed plan for the construction of the market.

The chairman expressed appreciation to Governor Caleb Mutfwang for creating an enabling environment that supports developmental projects and pledged to continue delivering impactful programs at the grassroots level.

These initiatives underscore the Jos North LGA administration’s focus on improving infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for residents.
