JUST IN: Bobrisky Reportedly Arrested at Seme Border Amidst Fleeing Attempt, Says VeryDarkMan

[By Abigail Philip David]

Controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has reportedly been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) at the Seme border while allegedly attempting to flee to Benin Republic.

The news was shared by social media activist Martin Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), via an Instagram post on Monday. According to VDM, Bobrisky was apprehended while trying to escape amidst an ongoing investigation by the House of Representatives into bribery allegations involving officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).

VDM displayed a message he received, which read: “Bobrisky was arrested this morning at the Seme border post while attempting to flee to Benin Republic. He sent someone to assist with his passport and hid inside his car. Nigerian immigration officers are currently holding him.”

VDM has called on both Bobrisky and the NIS to clarify the situation and address the circulating rumors.

The alleged arrest occurred as Bobrisky was scheduled to appear before a legislative panel in connection to an ongoing investigation. The inquiry stems from leaked audio recordings in which Bobrisky allegedly admitted to bribing his way out of prison with the help of a powerful “Godfather” and having a money laundering case against him dropped by the EFCC.

As of now, Bobrisky has not responded to the arrest claims or the investigation.
