JUST IN: NNPCL Stations Raise Petrol Price to N1,030 in FCT

Transportation costs in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are set to surge as some Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) stations in Abuja have increased petrol prices to N1,030 per litre on Wednesday.

This marks a jump from the previous N897 per litre, representing a 14.8% or N133 rise. It is the second price hike within a month, as observed across several NNPCL stations in the FCT.

At the NNPCL mega station in the Central Area, a customer who spoke to *PUNCH Online* confirmed the new price of N1,030. However, the station did not display the prices on either the signboard or the pump meter, leaving customers unaware of the change until they were informed verbally by the fuel attendants.

“I am very angry right now. I entered this station thinking their price would be better. It was only after wasting time in the queue that the attendant told me the price had risen to N1,030,” the frustrated customer shared.

Meanwhile, independent marketers such as Conoil and Total Energies, located opposite the NNPCL headquarters, were selling petrol at N926 per litre, but with long queues.
