JUST IN: WASSCE begins April 30

The West African Examinations Council, Nigeria, has announced that the West African Senior School Certificate Examination for school candidates will kick off on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, and conclude on June 24, 2024.

Speaking at the WAEC Lagos Office on Monday, Dr. Amos Dangut, the Head of Nigeria Office, assured that the council is fully prepared to conduct the examination, which will run for seven weeks and six days.

Dangut stated, “I am pleased to announce that WASSCE for School Candidates, 2024, will be held from Tuesday, April 30 to Monday, June 24, 2024, in Nigeria, spanning seven weeks and six days. The examination will take place in four WAEC member countries: Nigeria, Gambia, Sierra-Leone, and Liberia.”

He emphasized the council’s readiness and urged candidates to prepare accordingly. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to various stakeholders, including the Federal Ministry of Education, State Ministries of Education, Nigeria Police, security agencies, and others, for their support and cooperation in ensuring the successful conduct of the examination.

Dangut concluded by reaffirming WAEC’s commitment to delivering credible examinations for Nigerian students and the general public, and called for continued support from all stakeholders.
