The Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board (SPHCB), in collaboration with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency and development partners, has launched this year’s Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) Week.
The program, inaugurated by the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, reaffirms the state government’s dedication to improving the health and well-being of its residents.
MNCH Week is a strategic initiative aimed at significantly reducing maternal and child morbidity and mortality rates across the state. It focuses on delivering high-impact health interventions to children under five, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and women of reproductive age.
“This program represents our continued commitment to ensuring the health of mothers and children, addressing critical healthcare challenges, and creating healthier communities throughout Kaduna State,” Dr. Balarabe stated.
The week-long initiative will deploy resources and expertise to enhance healthcare delivery and tackle preventable health issues affecting vulnerable populations, contributing to improved maternal and child health outcomes statewide.
Through MNCH Week, Kaduna State aims to address key health challenges and foster a healthier future for its citizens.
