Kaduna: Unknown Gunmen Strike in Kauru LGA, Kill One, Abduct Five

Village Head Among Abductees

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

Unknown gunmen have attacked the Binawa community in Kauru Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State, killing one person and abducting five others, including the village head.

The Binawa Community Development Association (BIDA) has strongly condemned the attack, which occurred in the early hours of Wednesday.

“This tragic incident, perpetrated by unknown gunmen, has led to the killing of one innocent person, the kidnapping of five community members, and has left many others in perpetual fear and distress,” BIDA said in a statement signed by its National President, Mr. Istifanus Danjuma Makoshi, and Public Relations Officer, Comrade Garba Victor Binawa.

The attack took place between 2:00 a.m. and 3:30 a.m., resulting in the killing of Mr. Mani Ali Maikomo.

“Furthermore, five individuals were abducted, including Mr. Dauda Danjuma Makoshi, Mrs. Kande Dauda Makoshi, Village Head Mazuga Sale, Paul Musa Gombe, and Solomon Jonah Dangata Binawa, who later escaped with injuries,” the statement added.

BIDA described the attack as a threat to the peace and stability of the Binawa community and called on the Kaduna State Government, security agencies, and relevant authorities to take urgent action.

“We urge the government to secure the immediate and safe release of those abducted and bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice. There must be an increased security presence in Binawa and other vulnerable communities to prevent further attacks.

“The frequency of attacks in Kauru LGA is deeply concerning, and we demand a stronger commitment from the government to protect lives and property.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr. Mani Ali Maikomo and stand in solidarity with all those affected. We also pray for the swift recovery of Mr. Solomon Jonah and the safe return of the kidnapped individuals.

“The Binawa Community Development Association remains committed to advocating for peace, security, and justice for our people. We urge all community members to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies in efforts to restore peace,” the statement concluded.
