Kano Assembly Receives Two Commissioner Nominees from Gov. Yusuf

The Kano State House of Assembly has received a formal request from Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the confirmation of two commissioner nominees.

The request was presented during Monday’s plenary session by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore. In a statement signed by the Speaker’s spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, the governor sought the House’s consideration and approval in line with constitutional provisions.

The nominees are:

  • – Abdulkarim Rabiu Maude, SAN
  • – Dr. Aliyu Isa Aliyu, who previously served as Director-General of the Kano Bureau of Statistics.
  • Governor Yusuf explained that the nominations were based on merit, integrity, and a proven record of competence in public service.The Speaker announced that both nominees are scheduled to appear before the House on Tuesday, August 30, 2025, for screening and possible confirmation.
