Kano government proclaims Monday, September 2, work free for Islamic new year

Kano state government has proclaimed Monday, September 2 as work free, to check the new Islamic year 1441 After Hijra (AH).

This is contained in an announcement marked by the public relations officer of the ministry of information, Sani Abba Yola, on Friday in Kano.

The announcement said Sunday, Sept. 1, was proportional to first day of Muharram 1441 AH.

In the announcement, Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje, asked public officials and government workers in the state to utilize the event to pray to God for harmony, solidness and advancement of the state and the nation.
