President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is to visit Benue State on Wednesday this week to commiserate with people of the state over continued Killings of residents by suspected militia herders and find ways to address the persistent attacks on Benue communities.
In a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, and made available to Journalists in the state, the visit of the President is to assess firsthand and recurring crises that has claimed many lives and caused significant destruction of properties worth billions of naira.
During the visit, President Tinubu will interact with all stakeholders including traditional rulers, religious, political, community leaders and youth groups, to seek lasting solutions to the hostilities.
According to the statement, in preparation for the visit, the President has dispatched the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Inspector General of Police, the National Security Adviser, heads of the Intelligence Agencies, and Chairmen of Senate and House of Reps Committees on Defence to Benue State.
The statement says, President Tinubu had previously condemned the attacks on Benue communities, and extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and to all those who have suffered loses as a result of the attacks.
