Kogi NLC Joins Nationwide Protest, Decry High cost of Living, Insecurity in Nigeria

Affiliate Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Kogi State Chapter, on Tuesday joined the national protest rally against economic Hardship, Hunger, Poverty and Insecurity rocking the entire nation.

The Chairman of Kogi state chapter of NLC, Comrade Gabriel Amari declared that the rally is a peaceful one and not a coup or a threat against government of the day.

Amari who stated this before the commencement of the protest in Lokoja, said “You are all aware of the current untoled hardship that Nigerians are passing through. This protest embarked upon nationwide is in the interest of the entire citizens” Amari said

Amari directed members to carry out the protest in a peaceful and orderly manner, warning that they should not allow hoodlums to hijack the process and cause havoc to the innocent citizens.

He expressed delight that the protest is strictly under security cover to ensure hitch free peaceful rally.

Comrade Gabriel Amari had earlier at a meeting with the Kogi Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha regarding the protest, assured that, the Organized Labour in Kogi State are law abiding citizens and will co-operate with the Police and other Security Agencies to ensure a peaceful process.

Also, the Chairman, Trade Union congress (TUC), Comrade Sule Ahmed Tijani stated that, peaceful protest is a channel through which Labour communicate to the Government.
