Kogi West FGYB Legacy Group Endorses Tinubu, Ododo for Second Term

By Noah Ocheni, Lokoja

The Kogi West FGYB Legacy Group, made up of stakeholders from the seven local government areas of Kogi West Senatorial District, has formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for a second term in office.

The endorsement was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the group’s strategic meeting held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, in Kabba, Kogi State.

The stakeholders unanimously passed a vote of confidence in President Tinubu, commending his economic reforms, energy stability initiatives, and massive infrastructural development across the country. They pledged to deliver over 90 percent of the votes from Kogi West in future elections as a demonstration of their support.

The group also praised Governor Ododo for what they described as impactful leadership and achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, youth and women empowerment, and humanitarian development.

They particularly lauded his strategic approach to security management, noting that peace and stability have significantly improved across communities in Kogi West.

The communiqué highlighted several ongoing and completed projects in the district, including major developments at the Kogi State University, Kabba, the Model Secondary School, Okebukun, and township road reconstruction projects in Mopa and Ayetoro Gbede.

The group urged traditional rulers, community leaders, and residents to support the state government’s efforts toward sustaining peace and development, while reaffirming their unwavering support for both Tinubu’s and Ododo’s administrations.

They also commended security agencies and local hunters for their complementary roles in maintaining safety across the senatorial district.

The stakeholders further resolved that political leaders in all local governments should mobilize residents for the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise to ensure greater participation in upcoming elections.

Speaking earlier, the Kogi State APC Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Bello, described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a party for progressive-minded citizens and praised former Governor Yahaya Bello for “raising leaders from the grassroots” and laying a strong foundation for Governor Ododo’s administration.

Bello urged party members to sustain their support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Ododo’s development strides.

Also speaking, the Commissioners for Education, Finance and Budget Planning, and Environment and Ecological Management—Hon. Wemi Jones, Hon. Asiwaju Idris, and Hon. Olusegun Joseph, respectively—commended both leaders for their “unprecedented achievements” in governance and development across Kogi State.
