LG Poll: Kaduna Govt Imposes Restriction Of Movements On Saturday

[By Abigail Philip David]

The Kaduna State Government has announced a restriction of movement across the state from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024, due to the local government elections. This measure is aimed at ensuring a peaceful and orderly election process.

In a statement released by Samuel Aruwan, the State’s Overseeing Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, all vehicular movements, commercial activities, and any actions that may disrupt public order are prohibited during the restriction period. However, individuals performing essential duties are exempted, provided they have proper identification and clearance.

The government urged residents to avoid actions that could disturb the peace or interfere with the election. Security personnel have been deployed to enforce the restriction and ensure compliance. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities to the authorities rather than take matters into their own hands.
