Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a foundation for national transformation. Speaking at the inauguration of the Board of Governors and unveiling the roadmap for the Peoples Democratic Institute (PDI) in Abuja, Makinde highlighted the PDP’s mission to restore hope to Nigeria through renewed ideology and direction.
Makinde expressed that revitalizing the PDI—a research arm of the PDP dedicated to promoting democratic culture and capacity building—would play a crucial role in preparing the party for the 2027 elections. “We will fix PDP, and in turn, PDP will fix Nigeria,” he stated, underscoring the party’s role in providing a vision for the nation’s future.
Former Senate President Bukola Saraki echoed Makinde’s sentiments, stressing the need for the PDP to prioritize core philosophies over individual ambitions. Taofeek Arapaja, the Chairman of PDI’s Board of Governors, pledged the board’s dedication to making the PDI a hub for innovation, transparency, and progressive thought within the party.
