Bayelsa monarch bags award from varsity students

Paramount ruler of Mbiama community, Ahoada West local government area of Rivers state,HRH Smith Otovie Sylvanus has been conferred with an award by the national union of Izon-Ibe students, Ignatius Ajuru university of Education,chapter,Port Harcourt,Rivers state.

Presenting the award christened, ‘Award for outstanding performance’ to the tradition ruler’, the students group led by its chapter president,Comrade Onisolaimen Anthony stated that the reason for the award was due to the monarch’s outstanding performance upon his enthronement as ruler of the border community.

He noted that the students body comprising students of various clans of the Ijaw ethnic nationality, after a meticulous study of the antecedents of the paramount ruler resolved to amongst others confer an award on him.

The students leader harped that upon the assumption of the reins of power in the fast urbanizing community, peace and tranquillity now pervades all aspects of the community.

The Izon-Ibe students applauded the monarch for his mentorship and humane leadership style,describing him as an epitome of peace and development,worthy of emulating.

Receiving the award, the Mbiama monarch thanked the students body for finding him worthy for the award.

He stated that the award given him would spur him to do more for the community and all residents of the place,promising that more than ever before,the community under his leadership would become the envy of all,just as he averred that peace,security of lives and properties as well as infrastructural development would become some of his landmark achievements as monarch.

The monarch described the students as leaders of tomorrow, saying he would not relent in his desire to continue giving support to students from and outside the community within his available, limited resources as paramount ruler.
