Michael Jackson’s brother, Tito passes away at 70

Tito Jackson, renowned musician and founding member of the iconic Jackson 5, and brother to Michael Jackson, has passed away at the age of 70.

His children shared the heartbreaking news on Sunday, September 16th, 2024, leaving fans and loved ones in mourning. While initial reports suggest Tito died from a heart attack, the Jackson family has not yet confirmed the official cause of death.

Tito is survived by his three children—Taj, Taryll, and TJ—who continue his musical legacy through their group, 3T, as well as his grandchildren. His ex-wife, Delores Martes, passed away in 1994.

In a statement shared on Instagram, his sons expressed their grief: “It’s with heavy hearts that we announce our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson, is no longer with us. We are shocked, saddened, and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared deeply about everyone and their well-being.”

Tito’s death adds to the sorrow of a family already shaken by loss, following the deaths of his brother Michael in 2009 and their father, Joe Jackson, in 2018.
