The National President of the Middle Belt Forum (MBF), Dr. Bitrus Pogu, has called on the youths across the 15 states of the 19 Northern States of Nigeria to unite in pursuit of development. He emphasized that unity is crucial for progress in the region.
Pogu made this call during a recent meeting in Abuja with a delegation from the United Middle Belt Youths Movement (UMBYM) led by its leader Capt. Brent Kane and the acting National President of Indigenous Ethnic Youth Leaders of Nigeria (IEYLN), Comrade Augustine Gyobe.
He stated that the Middle Belt has lagged in development due to the lack of unity among its youths, stressing that the region holds significant economic potential for the country. Pogu added that the youths must tap into this potential by working together towards common goals.
During the meeting, Pogu proudly announced that Capt. Brent Kane has been inaugurated as the youth leader and a member of the MBF National Executive Council (NEC).
In their remarks, Brent Kane and Prince Inalegwu John, leaders of the UMBYM, along with Comrade Augustine Gyobe, expressed their commitment to fostering stronger unity among the youths of the region. They noted that through their collaboration under the UMBYM, they aim to overcome division and work together for the advancement of the Middle Belt.
The unity of various youth groups in the Middle Belt was also recently reaffirmed during a gathering in Akwanga, where leaders of youth organizations resolved to unite for the growth and development of the region, with the blessing of HRH. Samson Gamu Yare, the Chun Mada.
