The Honourable Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Barr. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, has lauded the Caliphate Icon Awards as a key platform for promoting excellence, integrity, and selfless service across Northern Nigeria.Goronyo made the remarks while delivering the keynote speech as Special Guest of Honour at the 2025 edition of the awards, organised by the Caliphate Youth Forum in partnership with Amazing Fame. The event is widely recognised as one of the most prestigious honours celebrating public service and community impact in the region.
Addressing a distinguished audience of traditional rulers, youth leaders, elders, public officials, and award recipients, Goronyo commended the organisers for sustaining what he described as a “noble and purposeful initiative” that highlights individuals making meaningful contributions to society.“ Awards such as this go beyond mere recognition,” he said. “They inspire purpose and remind us that progress is built by individuals who give their best, often quietly and sometimes against great odds, for the benefit of others.”The minister stressed that no contribution to national development is insignificant when driven by integrity, dedication, and a genuine desire to uplift others. He encouraged young Nigerians to remain committed to positive societal impact.
Goronyo noted that the achievements of the award recipients serve as living proof that resilience, hard work, and service do not go unnoticed. He added that the honourees should see themselves as role models whose accomplishments can motivate others to pursue excellence in their respective fields.The minister also praised the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, highlighting the government’s commitment to recognising hard work, rewarding excellence, and creating an enabling environment where innovation, talent, and dedication can thrive.“ The administration of President Tinubu is resolute in its determination to build systems that encourage merit, promote innovation, and reward commitment to national service,” he said.
Goronyo congratulated both the organisers and award recipients, expressing hope that the recognition would inspire even greater service to communities and the nation.The event featured prominent dignitaries, including the Wazirin Sokoto, Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu, as Royal Father of the Day, and the Kebbi State First Lady, Hajiya Zainab Nasir Idris, as Mother of the Day, underscoring the significance of the awards. Since its inception, the Caliphate Icon Awards has grown into one of Northern Nigeria’s most respected platforms, celebrating leadership, public service excellence, and community development.
