Miss Igala Nigeria Commissions First Pad Bank In Kogi

Miss Igala Nigeria, 2020, Queen Makolo Favour Achenyo on Saturday Commissioned the first ever Pad bank in Ogane-Uge Community in Dekina Local Government area of Kogi state.

Queen Favour Makolo while commissioning the Pad Bank said that the project is an initiative tailored at estbalishing Sanitary Banks in rural communities where every girl child can have access to free pads on a monthly basis.

She lamented the UNESCO findings where 1 out of 10 girls in Africa miss school during their menstrual period and eventually drop out adding “In Nigeria, the high cost of sanitary pads have made them inaccessible for poor girls.”

She also stated that the Pad Bank Initiative is aimed at curbing the ugly trend, sensitizing as well as  reinforcing the confidence of girls, especially at the community level, to be proud of their menstrual cycle.

She stressed that the first phase of the project is a trial phase which according to her would run for one year in some selected communities in the state  adding that the initiative is open for partnership and sponsorship especially for all those who desire the Pad Bank to be situated in their Communities.

She enjoined the government at all levels, meaningful organizations and individuals to key into the project as it is a sustainable ventures.

The beauty pageant, since her emergence as  Miss Igala Nigeria had embarked on numerous projects that have touched positively on the lives of people with an assurance to complete her biggest project of  rebuilding a school  in Igala Kingdom.

Queen Makolo Favour emerged Miss Igala Nigeria 2019/2020 in a kinly contested pageant Organized by Grace Jedie  the Chief Executive Officer,(CEO) Confluence Concept Production, a platform aimed  at promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Igala Kingdom.
