Tensions have escalated in the ongoing fallout from the death of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, as a group of area boys staged a street protest targeting Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo.
A viral video circulating online shows more than six young men holding a public demonstration, brandishing placards with photos of Iyabo Ojo, Mohbad, and his wife Wunmi. The protesters, visibly agitated, chanted curses and accusations, blaming Iyabo Ojo for allegedly interfering in the investigation into Mohbad’s death.
One of the placards boldly read: “E no go beta for Iyabo Ojo,” underscoring the intensity of their disapproval toward the actress’s involvement in the case.
The protest follows growing criticism and online attacks aimed at Ojo, who has remained vocal in seeking justice for Mohbad since the singer’s controversial passing in 2023.
Adding to the drama, human rights lawyer Emeka Ugwuonye—currently representing May Edochie in a separate legal matter—recently disclosed that Iyabo Ojo may be the target of a coordinated plot by unnamed individuals. He advised her to seek legal protection and proceed with caution, advice echoed by many of her supporters.
The protest and online backlash reflect deepening public division over the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death and the figures who have taken active roles in the pursuit of justice.
