The management of the Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, has called for justice in the wake of the sudden passing of the artist.
In a statement posted on the singer’s Instagram and X social media handles on Saturday, the management confirmed Mohbad’s demise and expressed their willingness to cooperate with authorities investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
The management also disclosed that Mohbad had been engaged in a legal battle to regain control of the majority of his songs and unpaid royalties, which had been wrongfully withheld by Marlian Music.
They expressed gratitude for the immense support and love they have received from the general public since the tragic incident occurred.
The statement reads: “We are thankful for the overwhelming outpouring of love from the general public following Mohbad’s passing. The circumstances surrounding his death are deeply painful, and we are fully committed to cooperating with the authorities in any necessary investigations.
“At this moment, our primary focus is to ensure that Mohbad’s legacy endures and that he is remembered as he was in his final months: free, resilient, and determined to secure his future.
“Before his untimely passing, Mohbad was in the process of pursuing legal action to reclaim the rights to the majority of his songs and the unpaid royalties that Marlian Music had wrongfully withheld.
“We will continue the fight to recover his music catalog and unpaid royalties, ensuring that these assets provide for those he left behind, especially his son, Liam Imola. We seek justice for Mohbad, and we deeply appreciate all the support we can garner in this endeavor to retrieve his catalog from Marlian Music, as it aligns with the justice that Mohbad tirelessly pursued.”
