Nasarawa: Gov Sule to renovate science schools in the state

Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has said that the state is deficient in the area of science and technology, which why his administration is concentrating on the renovation of science schools across the state.
Engineer Sule made this known after inspecting the newly renovated Government Science Secondary School Lafia,
According to the Governor, with education being key area of focus under his administration, it has become necessary to renovate science schools in the state, especially if the state must meet her demands for doctors, engineers, technologists, as well as all the skilled manpower required to man projects like the Lafia Cargo airport, among others.
“We have also noticed that one area of deficiency for us in Nasarawa State, is the area of science and technology. That is why we are looking at the area of science.
“That is why we are concentrating the effort. Now we are going to the two other senatorial zones to be able to upgrade their own science schools. We are going to have at least one science school in each senatorial zone,” Engineer Sule explained.
The Governor however disclosed that not a single kobo of Nasarawa State Government money was expended in renovating the entire GSSS Lafia, stressing that a few of his friends pooled resources together, to carry out the renovation work.
While expressing his appreciation to his friends for agreeing to give the school new lease of life, Engineer Sule added that the work saw the entire school; hostels, classrooms, dining hall, laboratories and administrative block, all wearing new looks.
“Because we have identified this institution as one of the three major science schools in the state, they decided they are going to carry out the complete renovation of the entire school,” the Governor stated.
Borrowing from his immediate predecessor, Engineer Sule said seeing is believing and that with the renovated GSSS Lafia for all to see, the people of Nasarawa State will know that his administration believes in education, especially science and technology.
