The National Youth Alliance (NYA) has inaugurated chairmen for all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory as part of efforts to strengthen youth participation in civic and leadership processes across Nigeria.Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, NYA National President, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, said the appointments mark a step toward more structured youth engagement at grassroots level.
He said the newly inaugurated leaders are expected to mobilise young people, promote civic education and encourage collaboration across ethnic, religious and political lines.According to Abbas, the initiative is aimed at expanding youth inclusion in governance and building a coordinated national youth network. He urged the state and FCT chairmen to lead with integrity and prioritise community-based engagement.
At the event, the organisation also unveiled its website and digital portal, which it said would serve as a platform for communication, coordination and policy-focused youth participation.
Abbas said the digital platform is designed to support transparency and data-driven engagement, adding that it would connect youth groups and activities across the country.
He acknowledged concerns among many young Nigerians about limited opportunities and representation, and said the alliance intends to promote peaceful, structured and issue-based advocacy.
The NYA said the new leadership structure and digital tools would support its goal of encouraging ethical leadership and broader youth involvement in national development initiatives.
