By Joyce Remi-Babayeju

The Executive Secretary Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev. Dr Yakubu Pam has admonished Christian youths to show good example by shuning all forms of unlawful activities and blackmail as they are the hope of the nation.

Rev. Pam gave this advice when the Southern & Northern Wing of CAN visited him yesterday at the NCPC Corporate headquarters, Abuja.

He said, “With the youths we have today, there is still hope for Nigeria.”

“Do not be like other youths who indulge in different unlawful activities like cyber crime and blackmail just to get money out of it, rather be responsible, disciplined and focused even in the midst of the crisis and confusion in the country.”

“NCPC belongs to all of us, and it has helped to advance the cause of the gospel through its pilgrimage activities to the holy sites of Israel, Jordan, Greece and Rome.”

The NCPC boss also encouraged the CAN Youths to use their platform to go on aggressive awareness to raise funds from Political leaders and business men to help in the sponsorship of their members to the Holy land.

Amb. Ekiye .Ekiye, the leader of the Southern Youth Wing CAN, who spoke on behalf of the delegation explained they were in the Commission to celebrate the Executive Secretary for his good works since his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari two years ago.
He said , “You came in at a time when intergrity, vision and result were at stake to breach the gap of effective unity between the government and the church since your assumption in office.”

According Amb. Ekiye, the Christian Youths are indeed pleased with the achievements of the Executive Secretary thus far, adding that they had come to express their joy because he has made the Christian Youth proud.

He disclosed that the Executive Secretary was able to achieve the historic maiden pilgrimage to Jordan and the recent visit to Rome with the traditional rulers and political office holders for Papal audience with the Pope which was recorded as very successful.

Amb. Ekiye applauded the Executive Secretary for his sincere and genuine hallmark of leadership through his friendliness and accessibility, and encouraged him not to relent on his good works as exemplary leader who is not dettered by the antics of people who do not like good things.

The Southern & Northern Youth Wing of CAN conferred on the Executive Secretary the Award of the ‘Most Friendly Leader of the Year’ in honor of his support for Southern & Northern Youths of Nigeria.
