The Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership (NCSP) has announced a landmark collaboration with the Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority (BORBDA) to drive large-scale agricultural initiatives, prioritizing food security and sustainable livestock feed production.
According to a statement by NCSP Media Department, the partnership seeks to unlock mutually beneficial opportunities in line with key bilateral agreements under the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and Nigeria’s broader economic transformation goals.
“This collaboration is a bold stride toward translating diplomatic agreements into tangible, high-impact programs. By partnering with BORBDA, we are unlocking opportunities to enhance food security and establish sustainable livestock feed production, which are critical to Nigeria’s economic and agricultural advancement,” the statement said.
The NCSP said the initiative will harness BORBDA’s expertise in agricultural development and resource management, combined with China’s technological and industrial capabilities, to scale up production and modernize farming practices.
The partnership is expected to create jobs, boost local economies, and strengthen Nigeria’s agricultural value chain, particularly in the Benin-Owena region.
