NDA Warns Kaduna Residents Ahead of Shooting Exercise

By Abigail Philip David

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has issued a warning to residents of Afaka, Kauya, and Mando in Kaduna State to avoid its open range during a scheduled shooting exercise.

According to a statement by the NDA’s Public Relations Officer, Maj. Muhammad Maidawa, the exercise will take place from February 26 to March 1 as part of the advanced fire application training for Army Cadets of the 72 Regular Course.

Maidawa emphasized that the exercise will involve live firearm training, making it crucial for residents to stay away from the designated area.

“To ensure public safety, barriers and warning signs will be placed around the range to indicate restricted zones. We urge farmers, pedestrians, and cattle rearers to strictly adhere to these warnings and avoid the area during the exercise,” he said.

The NDA reassured the public that the safety and well-being of nearby communities remain a top priority and called for cooperation from residents.

“This warning is a precautionary measure to prevent any harm to civilians and ensure the success of the training,” Maidawa added.
