NEITI drives implementation of Extractive industry with FG, CSOs, media- Dr. Orji

In a bid to meet best standard practices in the Extractive Industry, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Extractive Industry, Dr. Orji Ogbonnaya Orji has said that NEITI has ignited collaborations with the Federal Government of Nigeria, Extractive Companies, Civil Societies , the media and other stakeholders in the implementation of transparency in the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, EITI in Nigeria.

Dr. Orji disclosed this in Abuja at a press briefing on the Status Update of the Extractive Industry Transparency

Executive Secretary, Nigerian Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative, Dr. Orji Ogbonnaya Orji, stated this in Abuja, at a Press Conference, on the Status update of the EITI, implementation.

According to him, NEITI, has recently developed a corrective action plan to address the issues and challenges identified in the validation report to further enhance the Implementation, EITI.

Orji also stated that the EITI International mission had specified the need to reconstitute the NEITI National Stakeholders working group, NSWG.

He, however, noted that with the approval of the President Bola Ahmed Tiniubu, the NSWG has been constituted under the leadership of the secretary of the Federation, George Akuma as the Chairman of the Board.

The NEITI boss reassured stakeholders, International partners and the Global CSO’s of NEITI’s commitment to that by the next validation, Nigeria is sure of scoring the maximum point of 100.
