By Odo Ogenyi,Uyo

Akwa Ibom State Director of Centre for Human Right and Accountability Network, CHRAN Comrade Franklin Isong has called on the new Executive of the association to remain non-partisan and non-political in the discharge of their duties.

Isong who made the call at the inauguration of the new Executive in Uyo also asked them to discharge their duties without fear.

The state director noted that amongst the core mandates of CHRAN were to ensure the rule of law in the society, provide neccessary checks to government excesses, and to hold government officials accountable to the people.

“CHRAN is not a profit making organisation but a platform to advance the cause of good governance and deepening democracy in Nigeria, Akwa Ibom State inclusive.” He pointed out.

Isong who congratulated the exco and members of the organisation on their meritorious appointments tasked them to bring their life and career experiences to bear on their appointments adding that they were carefully selected because of their track record in their public life.
