The FCT Minister, Barr. Nysome Wike has said that the newly commissioned 16 kilometers Idu-Zuba road is an economic asset as it would attract investors and boost the economic potentials of Abuja and the country at large.
Wike stated this on Monday at the presidential
Commissioning of the 16 kilometers Idu- Zuba road at the Idu Industrial zone in Abuja.
The FCT minister reaffirmed how the Idu- Zuba dual carriageway road will open up the Idu industrial zone, to business activities ,attract investors and boost the economy of Abuja and the nation.
He said, “Road infrastructure is the driver of any economic growth.”
“Investors will come when there are roads. If there are no roads, no investors will come because their duty is not to come and do roads for you. You are to provide the basic infrastructure. That’s why we cannot stop thanking you enough. “
Wike stated that the Idu’ Zuba road project was awarded in 2014 at a cost of 7 billion Naira, 7 billion Naira, but because of inflation, variations, it was increased to 31 billion Naira.
He thanked President Tinubu for supporting the project, which was abandoned eleven years ago but was financed and commissioned after 11 years.
” It’s been the policy of Mr. President under the renewed hope agenda to continue with projects that would be impactful on the lives and economy of our people.”
“So, I thank Mr. President for your commitment to making sure that projects of this nature are being concluded.”
“Do not relent because we cannot do anything if you are not giving us any support.”
“Monkey dey jump, Monkey dey jump, na bcoz, tree near tree”. When people say, we are doing well, we are doing well, it’s because Mr. President is giving us support. If he was not giving us support, all this doing well would not be there, Wike noted.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin commissioned the 16 kilometers Idu- Zuba road in Abuja.
President Tinubu praised the FCT Minister Barr Nysome Wike’s vision, commitment to quality and timely execution of the road.
“This vital carriageway we commissioned today is not just a road. It is a symbol of progress and a reflection of our administration’s Rehabilitation Agenda.”
“An agenda committed to building infrastructure that serves the people, unlocks economic potentials and supports sustainable development”, President Tinubu said.
