By Daniel Edu

After seizing power from the democratically elected president, Mohamud Bazoum, on July 26, 2023, the leaders of the military coup in Niger Republic have now lifted the curfew that was imposed during the crisis.

A decree signed by coup leader Abdourahamane Tiani on Thursday states, “The curfew imposed since July 26, 2023, is officially lifted as of today.” This decision marks a significant development in the country’s political situation after the recent upheaval caused by the military’s takeover.
