Nigeria and Benin Republic Customs Enhance Collaboration for Trade Facilitation

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Customs Administration of Benin Republic convened over the weekend to discuss strategies for boosting trade between the two countries. In a press statement, the national public relations officer, Abdullahi Maiwada, noted that the meeting aimed to ensure the smooth implementation of previously discussed recommendations from their earlier meeting in Cotonou.

The collaboration seeks to strengthen the existing partnership between the two customs agencies. Maiwada emphasized that the cooperative framework established by Presidents Patrice Talon of Benin and Bola Tinubu of Nigeria has set the foundation for this effort.

The director general of Benin Customs Administration, Adidjatou Hassan Zanouvi, welcomed the Nigerian delegation and reaffirmed their commitment to the agreed measures. She highlighted the importance of close monitoring to guarantee successful implementation.

This joint effort between the Nigeria Customs Service and the Benin Republic Customs Administration underscores their shared dedication to promoting seamless trade and effectively managing cross-border activities for the benefit of both countries.
