Nigerian Army Chief Warns Criminals to Leave or Face Full Force

Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, the Chief of Army Staff, has issued a stern warning to criminal elements in Nigeria, urging them to vacate the country or face the full force of the Nigerian Army. His statement came during a visit to the 1 Division Nigerian Army in Kaduna on Wednesday, where he emphasized the Army’s renewed strength under his leadership.

General Oluyede made it clear that the Nigerian Army is now more formidable and serious than ever before. He urged adversaries to prepare for the enhanced and improved force, as the Army continues to take a stand against criminal activities. The Army Chief revealed that he had signed his command philosophy in December, focusing on leadership, professionalism, and sound administration.

He stressed that the welfare of soldiers is essential to their effectiveness, promising improvements in their accommodation, equipment, and training. This initiative aims to ensure that troops are better equipped to tackle crime across the nation.

In addition, General Oluyede visited troops on the front lines, urging them to remain resilient and promising new strategies to enhance military operations. He inaugurated two blocks of family accommodation at Kotoko Barracks, Ribadu Cantonment, and remodeled the Stallion Officers’ Mess at the division’s Headquarters.

Addressing students at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Jaji, Kaduna State, General Oluyede encouraged them to be diligent, enterprising, and resourceful. He highlighted the importance of professional development, emphasizing counterterrorism and counter-insurgency strategies taught during their 23-week course. He also stressed the value of leadership and the ability to inspire confidence in subordinates.

General Oluyede concluded the visit by awarding prizes to outstanding students, recognizing their achievements in military education.
