Nigerian Government to Create Joint Military Centre in North-West

The Federal Government of Nigeria plans to establish a Joint Military Command Centre in the North-West. It will be called ‘Operation Fansan Yamma.’ This initiative aims to tackle ongoing security challenges in the region, especially banditry and terrorism.

During a recent visit to Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, Minister of Defence Abubakar Badaru announced this strategy. The meeting took place at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House as part of his tour of the North-West Zone. The visit focused on final preparations for launching ‘Operation Fansan Yamma.’

Badaru highlighted the significance of the Command and Control Centre. This centre will help address long-standing security issues in the North-West. He praised Governor Uba Sani for supporting security agencies in their fight against insecurity in Kaduna State.

Additionally, Badaru reaffirmed the government’s commitment to combating banditry and terrorism across Nigeria. He mentioned that the government collaborates with neighboring countries to tackle terrorism and arms trafficking.

He acknowledged security concerns around Sokoto and its borders with the Niger Republic. However, he assured the public that proactive measures will be implemented to mitigate these challenges. “The President has tasked us to innovate and find lasting solutions to this security problem,” Badaru said.

He also discussed collaboration with military and security agencies during the meeting. “Our cooperation with Niger will enhance our efforts against the movement of terrorists, arms, and ammunition,” he added.

In conclusion, Badaru stated, “The President is dedicated to ending insecurity in Nigeria. We are working tirelessly to achieve peace and stability. I assure Nigerians that we will tackle these challenges effectively, and by God’s grace, we will succeed.”
