An ex-lawmaker from kano Ahmadu Abdullahi said that democracy in Nigeria is now progressive under president Muhammadu Buhari where people were allowed freely to elects their leaders without federal government might which is the best option in the Nigerian politics.
He made this known in a chat with Daybreak news in kano, adding that election in Nigeria is becoming more acceptable because the Buhari’s government has given all the necessary support to ensure that free and fair elections should be done in order to enable the citizens to vote for credible candidates during education.
Ahmadu Abdullahi who represented Bichi local government in kano state parliament during the second republic announced that ” we recognised and commends president Buhari for allowing free and fair elections in Nigeria which allows the citizens to vote the leaders of their choice in a democratic dispensation”. He stressed.
He gave an example on how Edo gubernatorial election was held where an incumbent governor won his re-election bid under the people’s democratic party PDP which means that democracy is now working under the present administration as seen.
The lawmaker therefore called on politicians to respect oppositions in order to allow peace and unity to reign in the Nigerian democracy because opponents always serves as pressure groups to better governance in global democracy.
