Nollywood Mourns as Veteran Actor Columbus Irosanga Passes Away

The Nigerian film industry has been thrown into mourning following the passing of veteran Nollywood actor and lecturer Columbus Irosanga.

His death was announced on Instagram by actress Hilda Dokubo, who expressed her sorrow over the loss.

Sharing the news, she wrote:

“There can’t be a shortage of Angels in heaven that the few here are called home like this na! This one is heavy on Uniport, Rivers State, Nollywood. Our uncle Coli @colu_mbusirisoanga has gone to be with the Lord. Ikoli eh dein na mu.”

A Legacy in Film & Education
Columbus Irosanga was a veteran actor, television personality, and senior lecturer at the University of Port Harcourt’s Department of Theatre Arts. A native of Okrika, Rivers State, he was known for his contributions to both Nollywood and academia.

His most notable film roles included “Issakaba” (2003) and “7 Kilometres” (2015), earning him recognition as one of Nollywood’s respected actors.

Award-Winning Career
Throughout his career, Irosanga received multiple accolades, including:

– Best Actor in a Supporting Role (AMAA)
– Best Actor in a Drama (City People Entertainment Awards)
– Most Promising Actor in Nigeria (AMVCA)
– Best Actor in a Leading Role (Best of Nollywood Awards)

His passing marks a great loss to Nollywood and the academic community. May he rest in peace.
