Northern CAN Crisis: Youth Wing Endorses Rev. Hayab, Denies Supporting Rev. Pam

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

The Chairman of the Youth Wing of the Northern Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), Musa Misal, has denied issuing any press statement in support of Rev. Yakubu Pam, the immediate past chairman of Northern CAN.

He clarified, “They wrote a statement and asked me to sign, but I refused because I was present when the State Chairmen, Secretaries, and other Christian stakeholders elected Rev. Joseph John Hayab as the new chairman. This election has brought joy and relief to many Christians in the region.”

In a statement signed by himself, along with his contact number, the Northern States YOWICAN chairman urged the general public to disregard the fake statement alleging that he issued support for Rev. Pam.

“We are children of God, and we will give an account of our stewardship before God on the day of judgment,” he said.

Misal further stated, “I, therefore, wish to disassociate myself from the statement titled ‘Northern CAN Youth Wing Stands Firm for Rev. Pam’ and appeal to any of my colleagues who have allowed themselves to be used to desist from doing so.”

He concluded by calling on former leaders to stop their desperation and join in the joy of the moment, celebrating Rev. Hayab as the new chairman.
