Adamawa United Football Club of Yola on Wednesday drew goalless with visiting Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi in a Match Day 15 fixture of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The match was played at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe as Adamawa United are currently using it as their home ground.
They now have 11 points from 15 matches while Wikki Tourists now have 17 points from 14 matches.
Coach Ibrahim Bariki of Adamawa United, while speaking on the game, expressed his disappointment with the series of goal scoring chances his team wasted.
“it is really unfortunate that we were not able to win the match.”
“But we will go back to the drawing board to work on our errors so that in our subsequent matches we don’t lose such chances,” he said.
On the match’s officiating, Bariki said: “technically there were some errors from the referees, but we expect fairness in our subsequent matches.”
Reacting to the match also, the newly-appointed Technical Adviser of Wikki Tourists, Usman Abd’Allah, praised his team while admitting that a lot needed to be done to stabilise it.
“This is my first match here. We have to work a lot on the finishing side of the team as well as the defensive side. A little here and there.
“We thank God we got one point which we are taking to Bauchi.”
On the officiating, Abd’Allah said: “I think the referees are doing well and I give them the credit.”
Abd’Allah who was appointed a few days ago replaced Garba Ibrahim as the club’s new Technical Adviser.(NAN)
