NSCDC Deploys Over 40,000 Personnel Nationwide for Eid-el-Fitr Celebration

Ahmed Audi, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has ordered the strategic deployment of more than 40,000 personnel across the country to ensure a peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

This decision stems from the prevailing security challenges and the imperative to proactively address criminal activities.

In a statement released on Monday by Babawale Afolabi, the Corps spokesperson, Audi emphasized that the NSCDC would employ both kinetic and non-kinetic strategies to preemptively thwart all forms of criminal activities before, during, and after the Eid-el-Fitr festivities nationwide.

“As the Holy month of Ramadan draws to a close, I extend heartfelt congratulations to all our Muslim brethren across the nation, wishing them a blessed, peaceful, and joyous Eid-el-Fitr,” Audi expressed.

He assured that the celebration would proceed smoothly without any disruptions, as NSCDC officers and personnel will be strategically deployed to public places, Eid prayer grounds, shopping malls, markets, motor parks, and various flashpoints nationwide.

State Commandants have been tasked with deploying personnel to strategic locations and flashpoints while fostering strong collaborations with other sister security agencies and ensuring robust supervision for effective service delivery.

In addition to praying for peace across the nation, Audi urged Muslim faithful to contemplate the Ramadan teachings of compassion, unity, and mutual respect for human dignity. He emphasized the importance of remembering the most vulnerable, particularly the impoverished, during the festive period.
