NUJ Declares Three Day Mourning in Honour of Benue NUJ Chairman, Victoria Asher

President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Chief Chris Isiguzo has declared a three day mourning for all Journalists in the country in honour of the Benue State NUJ Chairman, Mrs Victoria Asher who died at the weekend due to child birth complications.

Chief Isiguzo in a condolence message to Journalists, particularly Benue State Council of NUJ contended that the three day national mourning would commence from Monday 1st February, 2021 to Wednesday 3rd February, 2021. He urged councils across the country to suspend activities during the period.

The President in a statement by the Assistant National Secretary of the union, Joseph Midat said the deceased would be remembered for her dedication, hard work and unwavering commitment to the journalism profession. 

He pointed out that while mourning the passing away of their colleague, NUJ members across the country pray to God to comfort her family, the media community as well as Benue State Council.
