NYCN condemns invasion of BN ceramics Ajaokuta by Pan African Dev Youth Network.

The National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Kogi State Chapter, has described as criminal and unacceptable the invasion of BN Ceramics Company Ajaokuta by some youths under the guise of Pan African Development Network Network.

At a world press conference today in Lokoja the NYCN leadership called on security agencies to fish out those behind the criminal invasion and extortion and bring them to book.

Daybreak recalls that a group of youths going by the name of PAN African Youth Development Network had invaded the company under the guise of protecting staff welfare and allegedly demanded the sum of 10 million naira from the management of the company with a view to extort the management of the company over frivolous allegations.

However Comr. Isreal Alonge, State Chairman of the State NYCN, while speaking media men registered his displeasure with the development and described the activities of Pan African Development Youth Network as alien to youths of Kogi State.

He described BN Ceramics Company Ajaokuta as a company that has impacted host Communities in Kogi and lamented that some persons not resident in the state would invade a legal entity with the aid of the military and policemen, in a Gestapo manner for no just cause.

The State Chairman of the NYCN said the Council is concerned about the invasion, and is taking a position on the matter because of the hundred of Youths who are engaged in BN Ceramics.

The State Chairman described the invasion as alien to Kogi State Youths, and said the Forceful demand of N10million by the Pan African Development Youth Network, who later collected N2million, and demanded monthly 10% return to it by BN as unfortunate and criminal.

According to the Chairman, ” For the avoidance of doubt, the NYCN had through a survey sent out questionnaire, using the checklist methodology to gather information pertaining to Staff welfare of BN Ceramics Company”, and found them to be operating within all known safety standards, ethics and have contributed immensely to the development of the host community. He called on Security agencies to uncover those behind Pan African Development Youth Network.
