NYSC Issues Warning to Corps Members on Night Journeys

Mr. Kehinde Aremu-Cole, the Director of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) North West Area Office, has cautioned corps members against embarking on night journeys. The appeal was made during his visit to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Yikpata, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Addressing the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream 2 corps members undergoing orientation, Aremu-Cole emphasized the gravity of losing a young life to a preventable accident during national service. He urged them to resist any temptation or pressure that might lead them to undertake unnecessary night journeys.

The NYSC Director encouraged corps members to accept their postings with a positive mindset, emphasizing that their purpose in serving their fatherland is to make a meaningful impact on their host communities. He advised them to concentrate on the positive contributions they can make through the Community Development Service (CDS).

Expressing his commitment to community development, youth empowerment, and human capital development, Aremu-Cole assured corps members of his willingness to assist them in achieving national goals. The state coordinator of NYSC Kwara, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa, echoed the importance of adhering to the director’s instructions and highlighted Aremu-Cole’s role in mentoring youths and associates to achieve their goals.
