Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has reiterated the state government’s commitment to collaborating with the Federal Government for the socio-economic development of the state.

Speaking at the inauguration of the reconstructed 9.6km Abraka-Oben Road and the flag-off of reconstruction of failed portions of the Abraka-Agbor Road (Phase 1) in Ethiope East Local Government Area, the governor emphasized the importance of federal-state partnerships in achieving progress.

Represented by the State Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Comrade Reuben Izeze, Oborevwori stated that his administration is fully aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s government to ensure transformation in Delta State.

He commended the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for reconstructing the Abraka-Oben Road and urged them to complete the road leading to Benin.

“I thank the NDDC board for its vision and for addressing the challenges of the region through this laudable project,” he said.

He also highlighted Delta State’s continued interventions in federal roads, recalling the state’s role in rehabilitating the Benin-Warri Road.

Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, praised the NDDC for implementing President Tinubu’s directive to repair the Abraka-Oben Road. He encouraged state governors to view interventionist agencies as partners rather than competitors.

Chairman of the NDDC Governing Board, Mr. Chiedu Ebie, commended the board’s executive management for swiftly executing directives.

Managing Director of NDDC, Chief Sam Ogbuku, assured that the commission remains committed to infrastructure development under President Tinubu’s guidance. He acknowledged state governments’ contributions while reaffirming the NDDC’s role as an interventionist agency supporting development efforts.
